The reverse of the silks has a printed label which would have been used only at the Exposition.

The Stevens name does not appear on either the front or back of this portrait, although as the silks are identical to others recorded on this site, and these have the Stevens name, there can be no doubt they are of Stevens manufacture (see: so210 - Mrs Cleveland).

Whilst this version of Mrs Cleveland is recorded without her signature, it should be noted that this signature would normally be below the lower edge of the card matt, and the image above could be nothing more than a different alignment of the signed silk.
