Comments:

by Geoffrey Godden:
A portrait of the Duchess of York (later Queen Mary) with the registration number 369619, of 4 February 1901, woven near the bottom of the silk. The official records, however, show a different design for this number - one titled AUSTRALIAN COMMONWEALTH (see Portraits - go324). The same registration number occurs on a variation of this silk with the later title H.R.H. PRINCESS OF WALES, as found in postcard form [gc60 on this site].

Other comments:
This design was registered on 4 February 1901, with number 369619.

This silk is a pair to go320 - H.R.H. Duke of Cornwall & York (later King George V).

This same silk appears in postcard form, as gc40 on this site, and again when the Duchess became Princess of Wales, as gc60 on this site.
