Comments
This ship was launched and named S.S. Zeeland, in 1901. During the Second World War this name was considered to be too germanic, and she was renamed S.S. Northland. For a short period during the war she was used as a troop ship by the British, being known as H.M.T. Northland (with Stevens creating a card with this name). After the war, she reverted back to her S.S. Zeeland name; eventually being re-named again to S.S. Minnesota (for which there is no Stevens card). {Note: titled R.M.S. Zeeland on the card above, as she carried the British Royal Mail at the time.}
