About the Tapestry

Cash's story starts in the 19th Century although perhaps the true origins lie in the middle ages when
Coventry, a small city between the Cotswolds and the Derbyshire dales, was a thriving wool town.
From wool the city gradually became famous for silk weaving - a result of the Huguenot refugees
who fled from Europe and settled in Coventry. It was skills developed over centuries which led two
brothers - silk merchants - John and Joseph Cash, to open a weaving factory in the City in 1846.

HYDRANGEAS & LILACS

This tapestry has been woven in silk and other fine yarns. The skills of the artist,
Cash's designers and weavers combine to create an exquisite fine art image.
This magnificent range of designs gives you tomorrow's treasures today.
