Comments:
by Austin Sprake:
"Her Majesty the late Queen Victoria" woven in red at the bottom of the picture.
"Born May 24th 1819. Died Jan 22nd 1901" woven in blue below the portrait, and views of Osborne and Windsor woven underneath.
Portrait facing left.

STG 5a - The same portrait, except that the title "Her Majesty the late Queen Victoria" is woven in blue, the same colour as her sash.

by Geoffrey Godden:
Queen of Great Britain and Ireland, the Dominions, etc., she was born on the 24 May 1819, succeeded to the throne in 1837 and ruled until her death on the 22 January 1901.
Several Stevengraphs depict Queen Victoria under separate titles.

A portrait-size picture of the Queen, facing left, with small views of Osborne House and Windsor Castle underneath.
There is a woven inscription, 'Her Majesty the late Queen Victoria', below.
An explanation, 'Born May 24th, 1819. Died Jan 22nd, 1901' is woven on a ribbon, just under the portrait.

This rare portrait is first mentioned on label 31+39a and occurs on a type D3 card.

There is an even rarer version with the date of birth given, incorrectly, as 1837 - the year of her accession to the thrown (see so516).

Other comments:
It has been noted that quite a few Stevens pictures and portraits were sold through a company called "SILK PICTURE WEAVING CO.", based in South Farnborough, Hants.
This company tended to stick their own label on the rear of the card matt. As there is usually no evidence that a Stevens rear label was ever present, we are left to assume that Stevens approved of this.
Behind the portrait above on the left is the following label; as you can see, for an Agent of the "SILK PICTURE WEAVING CO.":-

rear label stuck on the card mount of the silk on the left above
rear label stuck on the card mount of the silk on the left above
