This silk of rather square proportion shows a half plan, half elevation bird's-eye view of the 1887 Exhibition building. The design was registered on 26 March 1887. The title is not included on standard back-labels and examples were probably sold only at the Exhibition, from 11 May to 29 October 1887, consequently becoming very rare.
The one known mounted example is affixed to a type D card-mount [as above]. An unmounted example is included in the Stevens presentation volume.
The same subject was also made by W. H. Grant.
