Forget Me Not

DOST THOU THINK I CAN FORGET THEE,
WHILST THOU ART SO FAR AWAY.
THOUGH MANY OTHERS THRONG AROUND ME
THOU ART NEAR THE LIVE LONG DAY.
AND OFT I MUSE AND PONDER LONG,
 OR COUNT THE WEARY DAYS,
OR SIT AND SING SOME WELL-WORN SONG
WHICH THOU WERT WONT TO PRAISE:
TILL LOST AMID A DREAMY MAZE
 OF RAPTURE AND DELIGHT.
I TREAD AGAIN SOME DEAR LOVED SPOT
 AND HOPE'S BRAVE STAR BURNS BRIGHT;
AND OFT AT QUIET EVENING HOURS,
 WHEN NATURE LOOKS SO FAIR,
 WITH PINKS, AND WILD FORGET-ME-NOTS.
 I BRAID MY GLOSSY HAIR,
A TRIBUTE SMALL TO ABSENT TRUTH,
BUT YET HOW SWEET TO ME,
 BINDING THUS MY SPIRIT BY
 MEMORY'S LINK TO THEE.
