DEAR HARP OF MY COUNTRY, IN DARKNESS I FOUND THEE,
THE COLD CHAIN OF SILENCE HAD HUNG O'ER THEE LONG,
WHEN PROUDLY, MY OWN ISLAND HARP; I UNBOUND THEE,
AND GAVE ALL THY CHORDS TO LIGHT, FREEDOM, AND SONG.
