Comments:

by Geoffrey Godden:
This portrait silk, which bears no Grant credit, was registered on 27 February 1901. Examples bear " Rd No. 370718 " under the Royal Arms [as the image above].
The card-mount normally measures 9 1/4 inches by 7 inches (23.5cm by 17.8cm), the sight size of the silks being 5 1/4 inches by 3 1/4 inches (13.3cm by 8.3cm) {the version above}; with a smaller card measures 7 inches by 5 1/4 inches (17.8cm by 13.3cm), the sight size of the silks being 4 inches by 2 1/4 inches (10.2cm by 5.7cm), {recorded as go 164}.
The subject was also issued as a postcard [recorded as gc 3].
The early versions of the portrait have the printed title in fancy type; but some rarer, later examples are mounted on a darker card-mount without any title.
A very rare version is mounted on the same card as HER MAJESTY QUEEN ALEXANDRA [go 8 on this site].

Other comments:
This silk is the Grant number 106.

This silk portrait is of course a pair with Her Majesty QUEEN ALEXANDRA [go 52 on this site].

This Edward VII silk was registered on 27 February 1901, with registration number 370718.

The same design also occurs as a postcard [gc 3 on this site], and also as an identical postcard, but with the erroneous registration number 370915, which is the registration number for Queen Alexandra's silk [gc 4 on this site].
