Comments:

by Geoffrey Godden:
This is one of the London views first issued at the 1885 International Inventions Exhibition. It is found mounted singly or in the multi-subject mount, where the title is given as 'Ye Olde Bishopsgate'; but in the individually mounted examples which I have examined, the title is given simply as 'Old Bishopsgate', and as such it was originally sold at 6d.

Other comments:
This same woven silk also features in the Grant multi-silk titles, as well as Ye Olde Bishopsgate
