What's New in Stevengraph-Silks

The Home of Stevens, Grant and Other Victorian Silk weavers

Who made these silks? A section has been added to this site, in which I include images of silks that seem to be from the Victorian period or early 1900's, but we do not know who made them. Can you help identify who made them?
last updated 29 March 2016 - details of all the silks we cannot identify. Can you help?

29 November 2016 Alpha Postcards The existing catalogue of Alpha silk postcards was based upon the excellent work produced by the late John High. John had recorded some 149 different titles. The following postcard is of Her Majesty, Queen Mary. The original image of Her Majesty has the registration number woven on the silk, and whilst this new image does not have this registration number, it has the words " REGISTRATION APPLIED FOR ". It was initially assumed this new image was simply an earlier issue of the same silk with the registration number. However, on close inspection of the two images, the flag is in a different position, and so is a different silk, and hence a new addition to the catalogue:
gc86 - H. M. Queen Mary (flag in lower position) (excellent quality image)

For a number of years, the title "Her Royal Highness The Princess Alice" has been recorded, together with an image. A new Dalton & Barton silk has now been included, with exactly the same title, but quite different design. This is hence a new addition to the Dalton & Barton catalogue:

This title has been recorded with a poor quality image, and it had been assumed to be of Lester & Harris manufacture. An improved version of the silk now confirms the manufacturer to be Lester & Harris:
