by Godden:
The portrait of this jockey, Charles Wood, occurs in the three versions listed below.
Some omit the woven signature below the portrait.
The title was first listed on label 21+13+2 of 1887, examples being mounted on type C2 card-mounts.
The title was first included in a Stevens advertisement published in May 1887.

§160 - With Mr R. Peck's colours: blue jacket with orange sleeves, blue cap. (Found with or without the woven signature.) - [see so593 with signature, and so594 with no signature.]

§160a - With Captain Christie's colours: cream colour jacket and cap. (This version does not include the woven signature.) - [Godden records only the unsigned version, the version above. However, see below regarding the previously unrecorded version with signature.]

§160b - In Sir G. Chetwynd's colours: yellow (straw) jacket with blue sleeves and cap. (Found with or without woven signature.) - [see so601 with woven signature, and so602 with no signature.]

Other comments:
Godden records the un-signed version of the Captain Christie's colours (cream colour jacket and cap). There is also a previously unrecorded silk with the woven signature, now recorded as so597
