Jenni Redman, a member of the Stevengraph Collectors Association, has undertaken some very interesting research:

She has noticed that all BOLLANS bookmarks have either a white or a black background colour.
Whilst the WELCH & LENTON bookmarks are also made with black or white background, if the background is of any other colour, all such bookmarks were made by WELCH & LENTON.
As can be seen, one of the images above is of a blue background bookmark, thus confirming it was of WELCH & LENTON manufacture.
