Oswald Partington, the 2nd Baron Doverdale, was born 4 May 1872, and died on 23 March 1935.
He was elected at the 1900 general election as Member of Parliament for the High Peak constituency in Derbyshire; the seat he held through two further elections before his defeat at the December 1910 general election. The favour above was evidently in support of one of these elections.
He later returned to the House of Commons in 1915 it an uncontested by-election for the Shipley constituency in the West Riding of Yorkshire, but stood down at the next general election in 1918.
