Comments:

by Geoffrey Godden:
This Grant silk portrait was issued in 1887 and is included in the Jubilee Album, being then also sold on its own.
As with other Grant portraits, it was issued in coloured silks at 6d and also in black and white, of smaller size at 3d (§1023a) [being go272 on this site].
An outline of the Marquis of Salisbury's career is given on the Stevens example [so452 on this site].

Other comments:
The version of this portrait included in the JUBILEE ALBUM does not have the GRANT printed credit, and is recorded as go270 on this site.
