H.M.S. Hannibal was the sixth ship to bear that name. She was a Majestic-class pre-dreadnought battleship; completed in April 1898 and eventually decommissioned in January 1920.
From August 1914 to February 1915 she was a guard ship at Scapa Flow, but in September 1915 she was converted to a troopship.
